226 RECORDINGS : FAQ

Does the $60 studio rental hour rate include an engineer?

Yes, the standard rates are $60/hour for tracking, mixing, and mastering (engineer included). Special pricing is available for full-day use and longer projects.

Can we get a tour of the studio?

Of course, contact us here to set up a time. Please do not drop by the studio without an appointment - either a session is in progress or the studio is closed.

Can we come in early or the night before to set up?

No. Sessions begin at the time you schedule them. Much of the engineering work begins as you start setting up so we have to charge for this time.

Do you do voiceovers, video editing, music for film or radio spots?

We can accommodate recording and sound editing for almost any kind of project.

Can I bring my own engineer for my sessions?

If we are unfamiliar with the person, we will need to talk to them and see if they are qualified to run the studio here. But this usually works out fine.

What are your hours?

We are open full-time and flexible.  Contact us with your specific needs.

What is the difference between an engineer and a producer?

An engineer focuses on capturing the best quality of sounds, while a producer focuses on song structure and acts as an artist director.
